Darien

Mother/Daughter Tea
Where: Darien Community Association

When: Sunday, December 2 at 11:30am
About: The third annual Nutcracker Tea will be held at the beautiful DCA mansion, festively decked out for the holidays. Dancers from the Darien Arts Center will entertain the audience with an abbreviated "Scenes from the Nutcracker", and the DCA Blue Notes will lead a caroling sing-along.

About: "Scenes from the Nutcracker" is a show performed by the DAC’s dance companies and is geared towards a younger audience.

Darien School of Dance
Where: Darien High School

When: Sunday, December 16 at 2pm
About: This kid-friendly dance performance will run for 50 minutes and feature a cast of 70 children and young adults with professional lighting, sound, and costumes. People young and old will enjoy this special show! Free photo opportunity available with a Snow Princess ballerina. Tickets can be purchased in advance by emailing DSOD here or at the door.

Connecticut Dance School - Sensory Friendly Performance
Where: Fairfield University

When: Monday, December 10 at 12pm
About: This sensory friendly Nutcracker for school children will feature adjusted sound, stage, and house lighting, relaxed house rules, and a quiet/activity area for anyone who need to leave the theater.

Norwalk Metropolitan Youth Ballet

When: Saturday, December 15 at 1pm & 6pm

et the dancers of the Norwalk Metropolitan Youth Ballet take you on a magical journey which begins at the Stahlbaum’s annual Christmas party and takes you on an adventure through the land of snow and into the kingdom of sweets. Experience the wonder of a professional ballet production right here in Fairfield. Both performances will be accompanied by a live orchestra.

 

New Canaan

Where: New Canaan High School

When: Friday, December 7 at 7pm, Saturday, December 8 at 11am (interactive childrens performance) & 4pm, Sunday, December 9 at 4pm
About: 
This production flaunts some of the finest sets, costumes and talent in the area. It showcases dancers from the school and the company, as well as esteemed professionals from New York City. Live music by the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra accompanies each show.

 

Norwalk

Connecticut Dance Center

The artistic director of Connecticut Dance Center brings her Nutcracker vision to life. The Nutcracker is a celebration of the season's joy and spirit with dancers from the school and special guest performers.

About: Enjoy a beautiful holiday tradition in a magical land where sugar plums dance and flowers waltz to tell the classic tale of a young girl and her Nutcracker prince. Tchaikovsky’s soaring score, graceful ballerinas, wooden soldiers who come to life and a bigger-than-life Christmas tree will make the holidays bright for young and old!

Connnecticut Ballet
Where: The Palace Theatre

When: Saturday & Sunday, December 15 & 16 at 1pm & 5pm
About: Join Clara Stahlbaum as she travels with her Uncle Drosselmeyer thru the Land of the Snowflakes to the Land of the Sweets and back. Along the way, she meets exciting characters danced by the professional corps de ballets and finally, the Sugar Plum Fairy and Her Cavalier. Guest stars from New York City Ballet and American Ballet Theatre.

 

Westport

Ballet Etudes Company

Nutcracker Festival Tea Party

About: As part of the annual Nutcracker Festival, dancers from the CT Theater Dance Company will perform during a teatime! Ballet demonstrations, meet the characters, and audience participation.
