Noroton Presbyterian Nursery School

NPNS is a ministry of Norton Presbyterian Church and is inspired by the Reggio Emilia teaching philosophy. This approach is rooted in the belief that children are competent learners with a pre-existing knowledge base. Teachers are companions on the learning journey and the environment is an important prompt through which teachers, parents and the community engage children in the joy of exploration and inspiration.

Children are always encouraged to try new things, think out of the box, succeed, fail, regroup and try again. NPNS promotes trial and error and provides emotional support through applause, encouragement and modeling healthy relationships.

The classroom environment is enriched by Chapel Time; as well as visits from music and junior naturalist teachers. Chapel Time is used to help children learn about God through Bible stories, action songs, and special prayers.
