September No School Guide 2018

School finally started and then Labor Day happened; and now Rosh Hashanah (9/10) and Yom Kippur (9/19) are right around the corner. With these holidays come school closures and busy moms & dads panicking about what to do with their little bees. Not to worry, we have you covered! Our September "No School, What to Do?" Guide gives you a list of vacation camps and a ton of other fun (and some free!) things to do while schools not in session!


Vacation Day Camps

Kids U, Stamford: Camp is an opportunity to sample everything Kids U has to offer with and emphasis on fun and friends! Snacks and drinks are provided. Ages 3-9, 12:30-3:30pm, $55/child & $50/sibling.

Great Play, Stamford: Super Hero Day themed camp (9/10)! Ages 3-6, 12:30-3:00pm. Email here to sign up!

Chelsea Piers, Stamford: Little Athletes Gymnastics Camp supports each child's natural love of movement and exploration. A low camper-to-teacher ratio ensures personal attention and maximizes safety. Ages 3-5, 8:45-11:45am, Members $63 & Non Members $75.

Darien YMCA, Darien: Activities include swimming, arts & crafts, outside play, gym, movies, and more. 9am–1pm (pre-school only) or 9am-4pm (preschool to 5th grade). Extended care available! 1/2 day Members: $60, Non-members: $70. Full day Members: $80, Non-members: $90.

Tumble Jungle, Norwalk: Camp activities generally include trampoline time, zip-line rides, bounce houses galore, age-appropriate games, themed activities, recreational sports, crafts, and so much more. 9am-12pm. $45. Register here!

Pump It Up, Norwalk: Kids spend part of their day laughing, jumping, playing games, and part of their time creating art projects. Extended day options available! 8:30-12:30, 12:30-4:30, or 8:30-4:30. $25 per single session or $40 for 2 sessions.

Earthplace, Westport: Enjoy a day off with fun & educational themed activities. Extended day options available! Ages 3-grade 5, 9am-1pm or 9am-3pm, Members $63-$95 & Non Members $70-$105.

SplatterBox, Westport: During Camp your kiddo will focus on age-appropriate projects working with watercolors, acrylics, collaging, pottery painting, fun games, circle time, science experiments, creative snacks & more! Ages 4+, 10am-1pm, $60.

YWCA, Greenwich: This program offers kids a full day of interesting activities! Make new friends or cultivate different interests or skills. Snacks are provided. Ages 3-12, 9am-3:30pm. *Note:YWCA membership is required for camp programs.

Toddlertime, New Canaan: School breaks at Toddlertime provide a fun-filled day for children and meet the needs of busy parents! Each day has a special theme: "Back to School Rocks" & "Art Blast". Ages 3-7, 9am-12pm.

Special Events

Monday, 9/10

Acting Out with Ms, Karen, Junior Art & Music: Ms. Karen Hall (of "Acting Out with Ms. Karen"!) releases her new book, "A Little Red Hood in the Winter Wood". Come help her act it out on our Jam stage. Coffee & treats will be available! All ages, 10-11pm.

Chinese Play & Learn, New Canaan Library: Join an instructor from the Chinese Language School of CT to learn about Chinese culture & language! With interactive games, hands-on activities, songs storytelling and movement, Play & Learn enables children to develop an early foundation in bilingual and bi-cultural competence. Ages 3-5, 11-12pm.

Slime Time, Stamford Museum & Nature Center: Slime may be the latest craze but we've been making it for years! Join us for some of our favorite slime recipes, a chance to meet some slimy (and scaly) critters, discover the wonderful world of slime molds and fungus, and more! Our usual self-guided crafts will be available, Heckscher WILD! will be open, and make your own ooey, gooey S'more over the campfire! All ages, 11-3pm.

Movie Mondays: "Finding Dory", SoNo Library: All ages, 3:30-5:15pm.

Tuesday, 9/11

Japanese Storytime, Cos Cob Library: Join us for a fun and exciting half hour of stories, games and music in Japanese. All ages, 4-4:30pm.

Story Crafts, Byram Library: Stories, songs and a fun craft that children will make to take home. Ages 3-5, 4-5pm.

Dinner with SpongeBob SquarePants, Stamford Diner: All ages, 6-8pm

Free Music Together Classes: Join us for a free demo of Rhythm Kids at the Westport School of Music or try a Mixed Age class at any of our locations! RSVP online here.
