The summer slump has hit our house HARD. The activities that at the beginning of the summer garnered shrieks of excitement and jumping up and down have now become "so boooooring" and meltdown-worthy. In an attempt to get us all through the homestretch of summer and still breathing by Labor Day, we've gathered all of our secret weapons in one place. In times of desperation head here to, without a doubt, find something that brings your kiddos' excited shrieks back!

Camps

It may already be August, but there are still camp options available! Some only require you to register by the day, and others by the week. There is a broad range of themes depending on your little one's interests: sports, art, music, or general. "Mommy & me" workshops are included in the mix, along with plenty of drop-off options (for kids as young as 3)!

Drop Ins

We are constantly updating the ever-changing drop-in activities we feature on our site. So don't forget to head there and narrow down the results based on what fits your needs (specific town, day of the week, activity type, etc.). A few special summer drop-ins that you won't want to miss before they end:

Bucket List

By now you are sick of hearing about our "Summer Bucket List", but the truth is you can ALWAYS find something to do on this list of almost 100 things to do in Connecticut this summer! On it you will find indoor & outdoor activities, museums, outdoor adventures, zoos, farms, arts & crafts, yummy eats, movies, concerts, farmer's markets, and more! In the mix of movies & concerts are the upcoming kid-specific events:

  • Concerts
    • Levitt Pavilion, Westport
      • The Not-Its!, 8/15
      • Michael & The Rockness Monsters, 8/22

Event Calendar

Although a little bit lighter in quantity than earlier in the summer, there are still a ton of events on our August calendar that you won't want to miss. The one we are most looking forward to is the Hey Stamford! Food Festival which will have food, music, beer and most importantly: a Kid Zone (new this year)!
