There are summer camp guides and then there’s the summer camp guide. We’re so excited to share that the 2020 Busy Little Bee Summer Camp Guide is live! Although it’s definitely a “guide”, it’s SO MUCH more than that. Our curated list of camps can be easily filtered by category (day camps, sports, and nature, to name a few), by town (from Westport to Greenwich), and by age (with some starting at 15 months!). We have everything you could possibly need to know about each camp: general info, dates, schedules, registration links, and more! The Camps page will be updated daily as schedules are released for additional camps, so check back often!

• Town: New Canaan, Connecticut
• Ages: 3+ years old
• Categories: Day Camp
• Dates: 6/22-8/14 (“Summer Warm Up” available 5/26-6/12)
• About: Camp Playland is the “day camp with the away camp atmosphere” – an all-around day camp with a mature staff on a beautiful 18 acre campus in New Canaan. 3 heated swimming pools, athletics, arts, go-karts, ropes courses, boating, fishing, archery and more! Since 1957, for three generations, the Bloom family has been dedicated to providing every child with a safe, warm, nurturing, fun and instructional summer. Door-to-door transportation and lunch provided.

• About: The Darien YMCA Summer Camp is a wonderful opportunity for children, with all abilities, to experience a wide range of activities. We offer an environment where campers will build lasting memories and friendships. The Darien YMCA Summer Camp is committed to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We help children grow and have fun through exploration, building self-confidence and independence, learning core values, developing life skills and most importantly being active. Our dedicated camp staff will help teach the campers new skills and facilitate learning in a safe and fun environment. Campers can choose from our Preschool Camp, School Age Traditional Camp, Gymnastics Camp, Afternoon Navigators or our Swim and Sail Camp for children with special needs.

• About: New Canaan Community Preschool offers a wonderful preschool summer camp that is run by our preschool teachers! Join us as we explore a variety of exciting topics in our outdoor space which includes two playgrounds, a garden and Nature Path. Campers cool down daily during sprinkler time! NCCP is proud to offer five 1-week camp sessions from mid-June through July. Each session meets Monday – Friday, 8:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. with a special focus on a theme. We offer a four-day or a five-day option. Children who are three by June 1st of the current year and are potty trained are eligible to attend summer camp.

• About: Be a part of the best summer ever at the YMCA. The Westport Weston Family YMCA offers an array of summer camps, classes, clinics and activities to keep you children active and engaged from the time school’s out until the new school year begins again all in a safe, supportive environment. Why not try a week of Gymnastics or Dance and end the day at our traditional outdoor Camp Mahackeno? Encourage your child to explore things they may have never tried and see them gain confidence week after week.

• About: At Earthplace Summer Camp, we welcome campers of all abilities from ages 2-15. All enjoy an unspoiled, natural setting–on the trails, by the pond, in the fields, or under the shade of our pine grove. Camps run in weekly sessions from mid-June through mid-August. Our staff is trained to ensure a safe and fun summer filled with adventure, friendships, and plenty of fresh air. With engaged staff and a ton of rotating nature-based activities, each week is sure to be a new and exciting experience for even the most frequent camper. Campers 5 & under use the Earthplace Preschool classrooms and stay with their counselors throughout the day. Each camp session has an exciting theme around which the week is designed. Nature and the environment will come alive for these campers through theme-related activities including animal encounters, trail walks, arts and crafts, playground time, water play, story time and music. Preschool campers also participate in camp-wide t-shirt days on Wednesdays.

• Ages: 3+ years old
• Categories: Language Arts, Math
• Dates: 6/29-7/30
• About: Students will strengthen fundamental skills (as determined by the individual assessment) as well as advanced skills to prepare for the upcoming school year. Students will work at their own pace in a classroom setting with instructor supervision. Preschoolers & Kindergarteners focus on alphabet, numbers, writing, reading, adding/subtracting, and more! Grades 1-8 focus on individual math and language arts needs as determined by individual assessment.

• Ages: 4+ years old
• Categories: Music
• About: Rhythm Kids one week camps are available for ages 4–7. Themes include Pirates and Princesses, Dr. Seuss, The Lion King and more! Come drum, dance and sing with us, learn songs and rhythm chants from around the world, and bring scenes from your favorite stories to life through crafts, song and dance.
