This year Darien School of Dance is offering classes in their studio at the YWCA of Darien/Norwalk AND at home via live stream! Students who are more comfortable taking classes at home will be able to see and interact with their teacher and dance friends at the studio.The Darien School of Dance is committed to providing the highest quality dance instruction for young dancers in Fairfield County. Classes will operate in 4 sessions for dance year 2020/2021 only. If classes are forced to close due to a health crisis, classes will then be switched to online Zoom classes for the rest of the session.

  • Session 1: Sept 14 – Oct 31 (7 weeks)
  • Session 2: Nov 2 – Dec 19 (7 weeks)
  • Session 3: Jan 4 – Feb 13 (6 weeks)
  • Session 4: Feb 22 – May 22 (13 weeks, recital May 23)

Mom & Me Ballet

A fun filled class designed for younger ones who are not comfortable in class alone. Parents or caregivers will have the opportunity to spend quality time with their children being dance partners in a circle time format. Creative dance, music, props, stories and games are used to develop physical and mental growth, coordination, balance, muscle toning and early social skills.

Pre-Ballet

ABT Curriculum Pre-Primary. A class geared for preschoolers to explore creative movement through music, develop physical and social skills, channel energy, promote creativity, muscle development, self-control, building confidence and foster positive self-esteem. This 45 minute class includes an introduction to basic concepts of dance (space, time, energy), class room etiquette and a nurturing introduction to ballet.

Ballet Tap Combo

This one hour class includes a 40 minute ballet class and a 20 minute tap class.
